This is a surreal game that is worth experiencing at least once. Its overall presentation and atmosphere are amazing, and the premise of its core gameplay is interesting. Put simply, Superliminal is an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a new puzzler to play with. It’s mostly from the AI chiming in with snarky announcements, but sometimes it’s from Dr. Also, the puzzles themselves might not be challenging enough. It really does feel fresh and unique, despite its nods to Portal, etc. Some players might find the experience a little on the short side in terms of playtime. The game introduces and develops amazing ideas, but this outing doesn’t push its own boundaries in the same way that contemporaries, such as the inevitably compared Portal and Antichamber, did all. Certain objects in the game can be picked up and be moved towards or away from you. Played in the first-person perspective, this game is a puzzler that relies heavily on optical illusions and forced perspective for its core gameplay. ![]() As you explore, you slowly realize what you're seeing is not as simple as it appears to be. You fall asleep watching its TV commercial and by the time you wake up, you're already inside a dream, unwittingly having already begun the strange experiment without you even knowing it. Summary As confusing as it is entertaining, Superliminal constantly uses unique mechanics that go against your expectations, even once you've adjusted to what it did last time. The perspective mechanics on display make a fantastic first impression, but the games design falters as it goes on. Superliminal starts out with you heading to the Pierce Institute to participate in the Somnasculpt Dream Therapy. Superliminal seems like a great game at first.
